Reference is drawn from the film and short stories, Chandni Bar that described the battles and lives of Indian and Pakistani ladies. Has history changed? To begin with the renunciation done by R. Tagore unraveled the misunderstandings between newly-weds Kusum and Hemanta. The couple had suffered an act of vengeance from Hemantas father after an old discussion. The roots of this story is traced from the time the British empires dominated India, the Britons influenced their culture forced changes in their lives as well as associations in politics in a way after the fall of Moghul Empire.

The setting of the station background that survived the 19th and early 20th century was restructured as a result of British associations aimed at handling qualities attached to it by the British. The facts about ranks were entirely altered by the British Empires who were after profits. Take the story of The Elder Sister, the background in the story talks more of the strict patriarchal framework in the Islam setting, the pop culture was put under the observation of ranking standards that showed selected families that portrayed social divisions.

Individuals in these families were also given their places. The connections in the family shows the reader that spouse’s relationships very open as the woman had the obligation of serving his husband without complaining. The readers see Sasikala attempts to get hold of some of the property saw her returned to her spouse and no longer with her siblings regardless of the rights to ownership she had. After being killed by her husband she was hurriedly cremated and reasons given to cover up her death for reasons of revolting.
