Lucy was quite astonished to have witnessed such a magnificent place. To her, the place owed resemblance more to some museum than a real life castle. ‘Were these stone animals really people once’ she exclaimed. At that very instant, Susan observed Aslan exhibiting somewhat strange behavior. The Lion rather seemed confused, he was trying to breathe into the stone animals, expecting them to bring back to life as the myth dictated, but something was rather wrong. Aslan was confused at this instant, he was waging like a wild cat, from one stoned animal to another, trying to huff life into them but nothing seemed to be working. Lucy and Susan were rather scared as the Lion was going astray and was losing conscious. All of a sudden, the sky went all dark, and strange dark clouds took over the entire mansion and soon, the entire scenery was found covered in darkness. Cold Chilly wind started blowing and suddenly, the trees started turning pale. Aslan, the Lion, was now feeling weak and stale, and soon after he started mumbling, ‘Water! I need some Water’. Poor Lucy and Susan were more confused than frightened, questions rambling inside their minds. ‘Susan, you`ve turned blue, what is happening to you?’ exclaimed Lucy. A tear drop fell from the eyes of frightened Susan, which instantly turned into ice. At this moment, Lucy realized that their bodies were losing temperature and they were suddenly turning into ice. Aslan, the Lion, was already lying on the floor, turning into ice slowly and gradually, as if his body is being trapped into a container made out of ice. Lucy and Susan ran up to Aslan, trying to wake him up. Lucy slowly rubbed the paws and face of Aslan, hoping he would be relieved. Though unconscious, Aslan slowly gathered the power to speak as he looked into the eyes of both Lucy and Susan, turn by turn, ‘Return to your land, the witch`s spell has gone stronger than ever’ he said with much wretchedness. ‘Soon, you`ll both turn into ice statues and would never be able to return’. ‘What? We can`t leave you here, if we abandon Narnia, no one will ever be able to rescue the statues ever’ said Susan. ‘And what about Edmund, we haven`t found him yet’ cried Lucy. ‘Aslan is right. Both of you must return to where you belong before it`s too late’ exclaimed Edmund, appearing from nowhere. Unlike the surroundings, and the condition in which Lucy and Susan were, freezing and dying of the chilly winds, Edmund was joyous and healthy, in fact he looked better than he had ever looked. Furthermore, he was wearing a crown, so shiny that a bright light was originating out of it, in turn brightening up Edmund and lightening his entire body. ‘Edmund, is that you?’ inquired Susan both surprised, glad and frightened at the same time. ‘Edmund, we have to save Aslan, he is here for us, for the all of us’ shouted Lucy. ‘He will soon turn into a statue, and I will present it to Jadis, for she will be stronger than ever and will gather enough power to rule the magnificent land of Narnia for eternity, and so will I’ proudly exclaimed Edmund further adding, ‘Return to your world, both of you, or I will have to present you to the Jadis as well, where you will also be placed as a statue for the rest of your lives’. Soon after, they all heard foot-steps, rather a stampede. ‘That`s Jadis` army, C`mon run away both of you, or they`ll take you along to the castle with Aslan’ said Edmund. Confused and agitated, Susan held Lucy`s hand and ran away so fast so as to disappear from the sight as soon as possible. After having run for around 2 miles, they stopped to catch their breath when they realized they`ve left Edmund and Jadis` army far behind. ‘What are we going to do? Everything is falling apart, it`s all my fault I haven`t explored this place at the first place and none of this would have happened.’ Said Lucy, crying while all her tears were turning into ice and she had turned so blue that it was rather difficult to even recognize her. ‘It`s no one`s fault, stop crying, we must find Mr and Mrs Beaver, they might know something about how to make things right’ answered Susan. ‘Let`s hurry before both of us turn into ice statues as well’ Susan and Lucy both ran towards the Beaver`s house in the hope that they`d find a cure to make things right. Also, they were hoping at finding Peter on the way who could maybe talk Edmund out of the situation after which they could all return to their world, never to return to the Land of Narnia. All of a sudden, Lucy could no longer walk, her feel were cold and frozen, she sat down beside a huge rock. ‘Get up Lucy, you can`t give up just now, we`re almost there, don`t you want to save Edmund and Aslan?’ cried Susan. Lucy burst into tears merely made of ice. ‘I`m frozen, I can`t walk I can hardly breathe’ further adding, ‘I`m afraid you`d have to go alone, I`ll be here waiting for you, go hurry before even you turn into an ice statue’. Without wasting any time, Susan hurriedly rushed towards the Beaver`s House. On reaching there, to her misery, she found Peter`s ice statue, as if Peter had been caught inside a huge chest made of ice. Frightened to her core and highly exasperated, Susan pushed the statue, tried to break it with a rock, even with a dagger she found but no luck. Confused and perplexed, she ran to the Beaver`s but to her misery, she found no one. A sad overwhelming state on mind took over her, where she knew it was a matter of minutes in which she is also going to experience the same fate at that of Peter. She ran back to where she had left Lucy, though she knew that she would have turned into a statue by now. However, on reaching there, Lucy was still hanging to the state where Susan left her. ‘Jadis army is desperately looking for us, they crossed paths but I managed to hid behind the rocks’ explained Lucy. Further she continued to say, ‘We must abandon everything here, and rush to our own world, as there is nothing left for us to do. They even took the Beavers where the witch turned them into ice, we`re the only ones left.’ Susan started dragging Lucy in the snow that had now taken over the place, trying to reach the closet where they were to return to their own world. Hopeless and Frightened they reached the closet, where Susan was steadily holding Lucy, both of as cold as they would soon turn into ice. ‘Lucy, Peter, Edmund, Susan, Susan, Lucy…’ on hearing her name, Susan opened her eyes, and to her surprise, it was the Professor calling their names trying to wake them up. ‘You kids are so cold, you`ve all been asleep for too long, get up all of you’ said the Professor. Susan stood up still on the bed, and looked at her brothers and sisters, still puzzled and trying to figure out what happened. She was still feeling as cold as she was in Narnia, a moment before, and turn by turn all the other three kids woke up, equally perplexed. ‘Was it just a Nightmare?’ Asked Lucy. ‘We would never know, and neither would we ever try to find out’ said Peter while looking at the closed closet.
