The plan is a crucial way of time management since it guides the student on actual actions and the timeline within which each activity is completed. The action plan also offers a guideline that puts into consideration other major commitments that may coincide with the writing and finalization of the dissertation. For instance, the research considers that the last two weeks of the semester have exams and examination revision. Further, since the supervisor has other commitments, it is best to have the research plan aligned to provide room for the most appropriate time to meet the supervisor and take the best time possible to discuss the proposal.

The time plan is also crucial to allow for miscellaneous activities like traveling, access to room space and equipment, access to population interests, and planning for possible costs that may be incurred like printing the drafts and final report, printing papers, access to the internet for research among others. In my case, this plan will offer a good way to avoid stress and frustrations and having the best dissertation possible (Swetnam, 2004).
