I am currently studying at Bellevue College and will be graduating in March of 2015 with an associate degree, from where my aim is to pursue a degree in Media and Communication Studies. I specifically look forward to facing the challenge of keeping up-to-date with the latest debates, technologies and trends, which have become ever more important as the communication and media sector becomes more dynamic and diverse. By majoring in Media and Communication Studies, I believe that I will have the required preparations to work in industries related to the media, as well as to critically analyze how the media influences, represents, and reflects the world. While my research on this major shows that media studies courses could differ substantially with regards to approach and content, I have been drawn to its combination of practical preparation and opportunities for media representation analysis from historical, political, and moral perspectives. With regards to communications studies, which I am most interested in, I expect to explore human communications in diverse contexts and environments, including careers in media like entertainment, marketing, journalism, education, business and management, and international law.
As I complete my studies at Bellevue College, I believe that I have honed my skills enough to pursue a major in Media and Communications Studies and, getting the chance to focus exclusively on media and communications in the course will help me choose I career that I can succeed in and enjoy. It is my hope that majoring in this course will give
