Development: The US government has been vocal on issues related to Iraq. However, the latest attacks on ISIS without the due knowledge of the US government are an indication that other powerful countries are also interested in the welfare of this country. Reports indicate that Iran is behind these attacks. It has supported the Iraq military with heavy weapons in order for the troops to overpower ISIS in Tikrit. Despite the US-led coalition forces conducting seven months attacks on this group, the entry of Iran in this issue is likely to change the politics of Iraq.

This is an indication that all is not well with the effort by the US to eradicate the terror group. The news is supported by information that planned attacks against ISIS at Mosul were indefinitely postponed.
