Understanding of people’s attitudes and the effects on behaviors are essential because they help describe how people feel, behave, and understand each other in society. Attitudes and behaviors may play a leading role in social interactions among people. Understanding the various components of social psychology is relevant to solving societal problems that face people in their everyday lives. Social psychology can solve these issues because it offers a basis for understanding the causes of the problems.

In addition to clarifying these societal problems, social psychology also helps in providing solutions (Buunk, 2007). For instance, understanding attitudes contribute to reducing interpersonal conflicts and help build healthier relationships.
