tal and nongovernmental health interventions on this front are geared towards helping those with the problem, and creating awareness that aims at ensuring that the statistics are reduced going forward. This research is a case study of obesity among adults n the United Kingdom, and the health needs of the adults having the obesity problem. Like anybody else with a problem, obese people have health needs that people they are living with, and even the governmental and non-governmental agencies need to afford them.

They need to live in an environment where they feel loved and taken care of. It is very important to, at the very least; help obese people find effective ways of going around their problem. They too are human beings that need to lead healthy lifestyles. Healthy lifestyles in this context encompass affording obese adults a diet that befits their condition, routine exercising and enhanced physical activity. All these can be achieved through concerted health campaigns, through print and digital media, including TV/radio programs, health journals/periodicals (Story French, 2006).

The other effective way of addressing the needs of obese adults is through physical meetings which can be achieved through community/social health workers health workers who arrange to have a number of adults suffering from obesity gathering in venues where they are met by health professionals who talk to them about their health problem, and what they need to do to lead healthy lifestyles. In a 2013 survey on overweight and obesity in England and Ireland, it was found that about 62% of adults were wither overweight or obese (Health and Social Care Information Center, 2013).

Adults here means people aged 16 and above. Of the sampled population, 67% of men and 57.2% of women had the overweight or obesity problem. Most of the study subjects had a body mass index in excess of 30, with women the most likely to attain higher body mass index values. Healthy BMI values lie between 18.5 and
