The study design involves a prospective cohort study where participants are chosen based on their arthritis condition. The participants are given the two interventions and then the outcomes compared after a specified period. The study design suits the research since the selection of participants should be based the arthritis condition. The intervention where there are high rates of skin infection will provide information about the efficacy of the drug intervention in the management of arthritis condition.

On the other hand, the study design requires a lot of time and may only provide reliable results after a long period. In addition, the sample obtained requires close monitoring to arrive at a reliable conclusion. Failure to monitor the cohort group will result in non-compliance among the participants which affect the study negatively. The study was a clinical trial and required random sampling (Widdifield, Jessica, et al., 2013). However much the case identified a relevant case, the sample selection was inappropriately and wrongly conducted.

The elderly persons have a reduced body immune system hence are susceptible to infections including bacterial infections. Staphylococcus aureus causes skin infections following the compromise in the skin integrity. Additionally, the patient had various complications that may have affected the research study since various factors may lead to the development of a given condition of importance during the study. For example, the effects of the medical intervention and the patient’s condition may result in the synergistic outcome in the development of skin infections.

Various methods such as Propensity score method was applied to approximate which part of the RRs was probably to be linked to differences in the patient characteristics. This was also to identify which part is related to mechanisms of action of the TNF inhibitors (Listing et al., 2005). The
