He was first noticed in the music scene with the anger of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from its second album Nevermind (1991) and departed with the challenge of In Utero (1993).
Kurt Cobain belonged to Generation X, the generation who was labeled an X for the utter lack of description that encapsulate that era. This generation however was given a voice, whose language was spoken through the band of Cobain’s Nirvana which was labeled as “the flagship band” and spokesperson of his generation, the Generation X. The genre of grunge, with its raw deliverance was given an art and emotion by the genius of its spokesperson, Cobain.
Kurt Cobain may have suffered the addiction to heroin and committed suicide. But it cannot be denied that his music has a far reaching influence beyond his generation. The genius of his Utero (1993) is a masterpiece that even the generation after him wondered of its genius.

The movement has grown enormously because of its persistence to break away from the normal cultures and getting away from traditional and customary musical symbols. Bop artists such as Charlie Parker, who was popular in the 1940s, perceived heroin to be a type of creative element that helped him to write music after experiencing alternate realities. Rock and roll music in the fifties was quite mild. Oddly enough, it is the older generation of Americans at that time who gave it its rebellious timbre by labeling it as a subversive type of music.
Rock and Roll is a genre of music that has evolved remarkably over the course of the last half-century especially in the United States and the United Kingdom transforming and changing in tandem with the social and political backdrop of the times. The genre, as any other musical category does not exist or grow in cultural, social or political isolation and it has with time drawn strongly from several other genres such as blues, folk and classical music among diverse sources.
Its success led to a dilution, as promoters were quick to attach the label to other commercial pop, and original stars such as Elvis Presley were diverted into ballads more in keeping with previous ideas of pop. The excitement and drive of the music was not forgotten, and there was a widening diversification of styles.
Anne Murray was one of the more successful crossover artists that appealed to Country fans but was also able to reach Rock audiences through exposure on VH-1 (Fenster 288). A crossover song, such as "Snowbird" by Murray, is a compromise of two styles that both audiences accept.
