?Introduction The changes that are taking place in the arts are providing different opportunities for disciplines and development. Music is one of the genres which is able to create new explorations not only with the new forms and compositions that are arising with the genre. There is also a direct relationship to other art disciplines that is taking place. The combination of music with other art disciplines is offering new and creative approaches while offering opportunities for exploration and development. Understanding these specific components and identifying new concepts for creativity is then able to provide concepts and opportunities for those that are working within the field of creativity. Defining these concepts is able to develop into a different understanding of how to approach creativity and to work toward exploration. Defining New Music The musical elements that are now working in society are based on a growth and development into forms of exploration. The movement into contemporary music began with the rejection of theories and musical components which were used in the classical sense. Breaking the musical boundaries and redefining the musical concepts allowed for new explorations and development to occur. Concepts in classical music such as twelve tone and impressionism were some of the leading genres that were defined as contemporary music. This led into even more popular genres, such as jazz, blues and rock and roll. The contemporary style of music is now defined by a variety of genres, all which are able to create and develop a deeper understanding of how music can be used to express and develop different opportunities within the realm of music. The basis of contemporary music is not only allowing different genres to form. There is also an exploration which is continuing from music theories which are used and developed to create a deeper relationship to the communication of music (Schell, 2008). The changes with music have not only developed with contemporary approaches to genre and theory. There is also the ability to explore because of new tools and equipment that are being developed for musicians. The use of equipment and the new instrumentation is what is opening doors to exploration to combine with other art disciplines and expectations. The tools which are developed from this are coming from electronic equipment, sound recording studios and the development of other recording alternatives. The standards that have developed with this require exploration for new sounds with recording and electronics. More important, there is the development of the electronics in relation to promotion of a genre and other elements. To do this, music videos, performances that include other genres and the ability to create the communication and expression at different levels is changing. Genres of popular music are combining alternative elements with the technology and communication to ensure that there is a response from others within the community while developing an exploration of the communication with music. Popular Music and Art Disciplines The approach which is being used with music and other art disciplines is taking place most with the use of genres such as pop, rock, hip hop and country. The art disciplines which are combined with this are building a sense of entertainment and attraction of popular artists, specifically to help them to develop different components and needs. The approach which is taken is to develop a combined approach with sound to sense and sense to sound. By using a combination of music with visualization or experience, there is the ability to have a better response from the listeners. More important, this creates a stronger form of entertainment which can be used in different formats. The result is that the electronic elements, genres which require grabbing attention and the use of combining the senses are able to integrate for a different approach to the music. The end result is the ability to grab the attention of listeners while defining a new format for entertainment and interest among listeners (Polotti, 2008). The approach which has been taken with other art disciplines has developed creative approaches, specifically with the initiative of developing production and consumption toward the arts. The competition with popular arts has reached new levels of responses, specifically because of the global marketplace that has opened up. This has combined with the art disciplines that are developing into the need to grab the attention of the consumer for entertainment as well as appeal. Producing music videos, combining story lines with the music and developing concepts around an artist are becoming a main staple for producing high end responses from consumers. The ability to combine this with recording and electronics, as well as with other art disciplines, is then taking the main stage with artists. This allows each artist to move forward with the art discipline which they are associated with while creating alternative levels of consumption to those who are interested in the music. The marketing perspective with the arts and combined initiatives is one of the leading approaches that is opening up new forms of creativity, specifically to draw the attention of the consumer with popular genres (Kerrigan, O’Reilly, 2009). Integration of Art Experimentation Another approach which is being developed with music and the relationship to other arts is coming from new formats that are developed outside of the popular realm of music. A concept which is now being developed and leading into different creative approaches is with hybrid art forms. This takes a variety of art and science disciplines and combines them together for a different approach to the expression which is used. This particular concept is one which is able to develop a sense of communication and a soundscape of ideas with the information presented. The communication adds in an emergence of all arts, including the musical presentation with visualization, electronics, poetry, storytelling and dance. The system which is used is able to move even further than this with finding a way to merge in and out of the arts into a creative development that allows for integration of the arts. The music, as well as other forms of art, is then not dominant with the communicative form that is used, but instead work toward the science disciplines that are associated with the communication created (Barbosa, 2003). The hybrid approach is being furthered with creative approaches that are designed and developed according to theme as well as mood. There is the ability to develop and combine the artistic disciplines dependent on the expected communication of one song. For instance, if the piece is related to a love song, then the other formats and disciplines that are surrounding this will also reflect the same images and mood. The visualization, dance and other types of art disciplines are then able to integrate into the music to create a stronger impact with the message that is being communicated. This furthers with the understanding of how the artistic disciplines are able to develop deeper meanings and messages with the music while creating and developing alternatives with the music that is created. This hybrid approach is then able to develop a different initiative in determining how the discipline and formats are able to work together not only to communicate a message but also to emphasize this on a deeper level through the combined approaches with other formats of art (Bischoff, 2009). Cross Cultural Affiliations Another perspective that is associated with music and other art disciplines is one that is based not only on the development of creative approaches. There are many artists that are looking at these initiatives based on going back to the cultures that initially created an emergence with the disciplines. This was inclusive of the music, dance, visual arts and other prospects combining together around the main themes and myths of a particular community. Artists are incorporating this particular idea into a cross cultural initiative that is used to stimulate the senses. These theories are combined with the understanding of the creative displays and expressions that incorporate the cultural affiliations with music. This is crossing into the contemporary styles and expressions of music as well as other art disciplines to build a different initiative toward communication and expression. Using the philosophies of other cultures and incorporating this into the contemporary styles is then building a deeper and different understanding of the arts and how it is approached in terms of the creativity and development that is a part of the communication used (Gilbert, 2011). The main approach which is used with the cultural affiliations is one that is then developed in terms of new creative approaches and expectations. The discipline that is created is based specifically on development of the art disciplines in terms of combining other cultural formats with the music. The concept of classifying music, culture and artistic works is being broken by the emergence of cross cultural ideologies and the approaches which are taken by those working in the arts. The specific affiliation is allowing each of the artistic works to be a representative that not only experiments with and investigates the association that is a part of the hybrid art works. This is also combined with the exploration of other cultural affiliations and artistic works that may present and communicate the message at an even stronger response time. By doing this, there is the ability to develop and present a message that works outside of the classification of art work in terms of culture as well as genre (Laurier, 2008). Expansion of Creativity in the Classroom The concept of music that is developing with hybrid formats of disciplines is not only taking place in terms of performances and recognition within the community. There is also development that is occurring within the classroom toward the hybrid approach and what is expected. Innovation within music education is one of the current themes that are leading many educators and teachers to re-examine how the artistic endeavors are taught and looked at. The ability to combine creative approaches with the disciplines while working toward effective components is then developing a different relationship with the classroom and the way in which this is being approached. The result is that the discipline of music is leading into new developments of creativity and concepts that are associated with the arts. This is furthered with the understanding of how the music developments and creativity are able to approach an alternative approach to the classroom and the initiatives that are being taken among students. The result is different innovations and experimentation not only with the expressions of music but also toward the way that music is being taught by educators that are interested in the contemporary components that are associated with musical expressions (Yi, 2009). The educational approach as well as the developments within music are combining together to show a different approach to the artistic disciplines and developments that are occurring. A noted change that is grabbing the attention of artists, musicians and educators is based on the communicative message and the ways in which this can be presented. Many are noticing that the artistic intentions behind a specific piece of work is what is drawing it into perspective while creating a different understanding of the educational development that is created. The consciousness of musicians and the expectations with exploration and being able to express different levels of creativity is then altering the way in which different aspects with the artwork are taught and approached. The intentions are inclusive of learning the technical and installation aspects within music as well as understanding how to best communicate a message while working with alternative artistic disciplines. This approach is furthered with the context combining with the intention first. Teaching this particular aspect and evaluating how artists are beginning to create this specific approach is then leading into new possibilities with music as well as further exploration within the arts (Perlovsky, 2008). The question which is now being tested is based on the art disciplines and how this is going to develop in terms of exploration, communication, creativity and education. The discipline of arts is continuously transforming and moving forward in terms of how one is able to approach the educational levels and concepts that are created. This is furthered with the understanding that there needs to be specific developments in terms of the educational learning and interdisciplinary approaches. The challenge which is arising toward musicians and educators is based on understanding how to develop more of the artistic works that combine with other disciplines. Understanding and pursuing this particular concept while developing a different alternative approach to the arts is one that can enhance the communication and learning while altering the expectations with learning that are associated with music and the arts as an overall form of communication. Working toward the interdisciplinary approach toward music and other art disciplines is then leading to questions of new developments within the community (Correa, Samuels, 2009). Conclusion The concept of music and the relationship that it holds to other art disciplines is currently opening new doors and initiatives for learning and communication. Currently, the combination of music and other arts is being led by the popular genres of music, specifically which combine the senses into the music. This is used for promotion and advertising as well as to create new developments in entertainment to remain ahead of the competition. However, the music and art disciplines are being furthered with communication, artist intention and new creative approaches among several. This is based on combining the new formats and tools with the music as well as leading into different expressions with the music that is developed. The creative approaches are then leading into an alternative way of developing and communicating a specific message. The development and initiatives is not only leading to contemporary changes within music. This is also leading into new educational pursuits that are complimenting the explorations and which are leading into hybrid, cross cultural and new expressions that combine and intertwine the arts in alternative ways.
