The researcher personal experienced has been reinforced based on new knowledge endowments through reading articles particularly, significance of brass instruments in music industry. Revelations of brass instruments to be made of brass material as opposed to earlier hollow animal horns, tasks and glass is worth noting as a new concept and idea that need leads to increase in my personal experience. Based on the reading, I have gained a clear experience on how pitch is regulated via variation on lips tension through valves and slides culminating into fluctuation on the tube length and hence controlling pitch.
With respect to trombone, new knowledge is instilled as I have learned how different pitches are attained based on variation in tube length resulting from pulling and pushing the slide in and out. Tone color alteration by brass players also adds to my knowledge as this attained by a mute insertion into the bell.
Significance attached to mute in jazz music further points to my increased personal experience based on realization that buzzing sounds, comical, ‘wah-wah’ and tone mellowing that initially I could not understand in jazz music are made understandable.
