Transition acts as a dependent variable while the health illness condition is the independent variable such as an acutely hospitalized ill patient or other situations having an impending state of transition. In addition, immigration may turn change into an independent variable, which may expose human to health challenges and influence responses to health problems as well as types of action to be taken (Kim, 2010).
