The philosophical implications of performance appraisal are principally described as the periodic and the formal assessment of the performances deciphered by individuals with the intention of making effective career decisions. It involves the measurement, recognition as well as the supervision of human performance within an organization (Randhawa, 2007). The major objectives of initiating performance appraisal can be identified in terms of recognizing the strong along with the weak points of the personnel and delivering feedback to them about their working performances over a given period of time (Grobler & Warnich, 2005). The various crucial benefits of performance evaluation include the development of the employees, forming effectual communications with the working staffs and most importantly increasing the motivation of the personnel (DelPo, 2007).
In this discussion, a completed evaluation form based on various qualities relating with the performance appraisal for the clinical behaviors deciphered by a nurse has been taken into concern. Moreover, a response or a feedback about the professional, i.e. the nurse, on the basis of the completed evaluation form has also been portrayed in the discussion.
While evaluating the performance appraisal form, the rankings from 1 to 5 has been taken into concern; where 1 denotes outstanding performance, 2 denotes satisfactory performance, 3 denotes average performance, 4 denotes below average performance and 5 denotes unsatisfactory performance.
