This paper focuses on understanding best methods in Evidence-Based Practices in healthcare and for nurses. EBP in conjunction with professional clinical research provides continuous quality improvements overall for healthcare, practitioners such as doctors and nurses…
In today’s medical world, electronic clinical information systems (ECIS) are now found in every hospital and clinic setting, allowing for nurses and doctors to quickly access information electronically and apply solutions immediately at the patient’s bedside. When medical staff are able to complete forms and search for information electronically using national standard code terms (or SNLs) on hand-held devices, this eliminates the older practices of having to return to one’s desk to look up information in books and office folders and then notate everything on paper. Eliminating excess time by having portable access to electronic medical information databases on the go, provides the environment in all clinics and hospitals of quickly and accurately providing efficient solutions and operations for all concerned (Allread et al., 2004). The ability for nurses to conduct research also provides the development needed for gaining experience in addressing clinical questions about cases and confronting ethical issues (Webb, 2011). Clinical research also provides opportunities to build a strong foundation of scientific information and knowledge, particularly applicable to clinical settings. Research in evidence-based systems also provides opportunities in developing processes within the nursing management sector as part of delivering better information and infrastructure in hospitals and clinics, between management and staff and between management, staff, and patients (Webb, 2011). ...

Being a Pharmacist, I have an obligation towards the patients in prescribing medicines which does not pose risk to their health and well being. Patients are unaware of the consequences and effect of the medicines on their health; hence pharmacist has the duty to inform the patients correctly on this issue.
Evidence-based practices for the successful prevention of CVD in women have thus been investigated. The present paper lists evidence-based guidelines reported by Mosca et al. (2004) in their paper, "Evidence-Based Guidelines for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention in Women".
Cancer has become a major health care problem today. With the health practices people are into today the prevalence of cancer and cancer related diseases has hit the mark on the community health scale. With the prevalence of cancer more and more health care services are being utilized in providing quality nursing care such patients.
Evidence-based practices provide an opportunity for the nurse to bring options to their clients that may not be known without the careful details of a research modality (De Pedro-Gomez, 2012). Taylor (2012) adds that because primary care nursing is rapidly changing, the need for evidenced-practice becomes more significant.
With the decline in the economy came a downpour of contenders, but at the same time, ultimately, slashed money for recruitment and hiring. The LAPD – Los Angeles Police Department – has experienced the recession intensely. The agency’s advertising funds were cut by 60% in economic year of 2009, city workers concerned in applicant dispensation have been furloughed habitually, and in March 2009, the Town Council permitted a three-month hiring freeze (Nostrand, 2007).
Therefore research knowledge that examines a clinical problem becomes important in guiding practice (Milton, Evidence-Based Practice: Ethical Questions for Nursing, 2007). Care delivery in this context is based on evidence, not on outdated knowledge, personal opinions, or tradition in the care setting.
Deductions can be made through the research involved in determining solutions, taking accurate records of treatment results, using clinical reasoning throughout the process, and providing outcome treatment results for either supporting current practices or providing a case for the need to change a current process.
Currently, turnover rates for new graduate nurses are estimated to be between 35% and 61% (Guthrie, Tyrna, and Giannuzzi, 2013). A huge percentage of finances are directed towards hiring and subsequent training of new nurses instead of being directed towards improvement of care and enhancement of health care delivery systems.
