The child goes through the Pre-operational Stage. Development during this stage occurs when the child is between two years of age to seven years of age. Under this stage, the child learns to think or process information. The child learns more information. The child feels everything, include toys and other objects can think and feel pain like babies. The child develops a rudimentary concept of right or wrong acts, classified as symbolism (Shaffer 205).
Third, child goes through the Concrete Operational Stage. Development during this stage occurs when the child is between seven years of age to eleven years of age. The child’s thinking process is more mature, developed, and rational. Children can forecast what will happen if a certain act or cause crops up. The child starts to find hidden objects at eight years of age (Shaffer 206). The finding is classified as object permanence (Adrien et al. 25).
Fourth, child goes through the Formal Operational Stage. Development during this stage occurs during the child’s adolescent years. The adolescent years are between eleven years of age to an estimated 16 years of age. The child can bring out several alternatives to resolve or fix a problem or situation.
