Incorporating Theory al Affiliation Incorporating Theory There are various theories that can be used in the control, prevention as well as reduction of obesity among older nurses in various hospitals globally (Nichols, Stein, & Wold, 2014). These include the social cognitive theory, the health belief theory, and the theory of reasoned action as well as social support theory (Wu & Huang, 2013). However, this paper will mainly discuss and incorporate the theory of education health promoting behavior in preventing and controlling obesity among older nurses (Marchiondo, 2014).

This theory is mainly based on educational health promotion systems that aim at changing the behavior of individuals towards healthy life styles and practices (Marchiondo, 2014). The theory clearly outlines the population based health strategies for obesity prevention among older nurses including health promotion initiatives (Wu & Huang, 2013). The theory advocates for healthy eating system and proper physical activities practices in preventing obesity. This model of theory also proposes health educational strategies in solving obesity problem among older nurses (Marchiondo, 2014).

It also provides a number of health related behaviors in developing public health policies in various health institutions globally (Wu & Huang, 2013). Health education as well as healthy promotion behaviors are some of the research based strategies that are widely used in the prevention and reduction of obesity among older nurses (Newman, 2009). Therefore, the main rationale for the adoption of this theory is due to its wide and broad use in the control and prevention of obesity among older nurses globally.

How the theory Works to Support Proposed Solutions.This theory also supports various proposed solutions that are very effective in reducing, controlling and preventing obesity among older nurses (Marchiondo, 2014). This includes proper weight management, avoidance of heavy smoking, adoption of healthy eating habits and regular physical exercise among older nurses. The hypothesis advocates for various behavioral approaches in controlling obesity and adoption of these proposed changes (Weiss, Weisser, & Salario, 2014).

The theory provides that behavior changes should be made step by step in order to avoid stress and other destructive conditions among older nurses (Wu & Huang, 2013). This presumption also put into consideration a number of psychological, social as well as emotional coping strategies of older nurses in adopting weight gain management practices. The theory advocates for provision of health promotional interventions through appropriate techniques that will facilitate older nurses coping methods.

Health behavior change is very important in the prevention of obesity and individual older nurses will be helped through various weight loss programs in order to prevent obesity among them (Marchiondo, 2014).The theory also provides various evaluation procedures that can be used in the assessment of older nurse’s behavior changes.How to Incorporate the Theory into the ProjectIn this project the theory will be incorporated through provision of various weight management practices to a number of older nurses.

There are also behavior promotion practices such as avoidance of heavy smoking and regular physical exercise that will be taught to older nurses in order to reduce the effect of obesity among them (Wu & Huang, 2013). The effect of such practices will then be evaluated and properly assessed at the end of the project. It is clear that the practices will result into positive effects as previous projects indicates that these practices effectively help in control of obesity among older nurses. Lifestyle and dietary behavior changes will be also incorporated in this project in order to reduce obesity among older nurses.

It is clear that health behavior changes promotional activities of this project will produce positive results towards the reduction of obesity cases among older nurses (Wu & Huang, 2013). The adoption of new and effective behaviors by the older nurses community will also results into positive outcome towards the elimination and prevention of obesity among older nurses (Marchiondo, 2014) Family based behavior changes will also be incorporated in the project as one of the major interventions inn controlling obesity among older nurses (Wu & Huang, 2013).

Educational health strategies will also be used in order to train older nurses in adopting healthy living styles (Marchiondo, 2014). Finally, it is very clear from this paper that incorporation of health behavior promotion theory in this project will reduce, control as well as prevent obesity among older nurses in the United States (Wu & Huang, 2013). This will be achieved through lifestyle behavior changes and adoption of better weight management practices through proper health education among older nurses (Marchiondo, 2014).
