Nursing Principles of scholarly discussion in online environment The environment offers extensive information for the public domain, which ensures that there is an open access to scholarship opportunities. Such includes having a diversified publishing industry that entails competition for market information. The discussion ensures that there is a broad access to scholarly writings and published research in different fields. This increases the control of scholars in sharing information at reasonable and fair prices in the market.

The publication is characterized of speedy delivery of information, reduction of the distribution costs and increased access to scholarly research (Al-Shalchi 105). Thus, quality assurance is ensured through peer reviewing of the information, which is published in the online environment. The environment also ensures that there is fair use of the published information for the purposes of research and education. Hence, preservation of the scholarly information so that it becomes available after a long-time occurs.

Social network Social networks and online environments are different. For social networks, scholar focus more on sharing ideals and issues, which are directed on their social life while in the online environments the focus is on contribution towards scholarly field. Scholarly discussions in online environment have rules and regulations, but in social networks there are no rules and regulations (Morgenthaler 335). Further, social networks lack the principles of guiding how the discussions have to occur.

As such, there are no structures on how social network discussions occur.
