Family nurse practitioners are capable of working in various environments including hospitals, clinics, and community settings. There are several complex roles of a nurse practitioner which blend a variety of medical services to their respective patients under the authority of a physician.
The research I conducted was entirely through the help of internet. A nurse practitioner is a nurse who is specialized in a certain area like a pediatric nurse, women’s health, occupational health et cetera. Nurse practitioners are also known as advanced practice nurses or APNs.
The problem is projected to get worse with the ageing of the baby boomers generation and rising need for health care. At the national level the parties concerned are busy working to raise awareness of the looming crisis, develop legislations and strategies to mitigate the shortage of nurses.
Due to their low immunity, the elderly people suffer from various illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, tuberculosis, lung infections etc. Thus, they require services from a more specialized advanced nurse who has the required experience and is conversant with these illnesses (Birchenall & Eileen, 1974).
Various studies have examined and documented the different issues encountered by nurse managers in the nursing practice. These studies have exhibited that nurse managers often face problems related to nursing staff shortage. This paper shall use a minimally structured interview in order to gather information from primary respondents.
