Research evidence has also been associated through research to an increase in the healthcare provider empowerment and the feeling of confidence and autonomy on the side of the practitioner (Soong et al., 2013). Further, when this happens, the nurse practitioners are more satisfied in their work, there is less healthcare provider turnover.

In addition, research-based practice increases the availability of knowledge and development of the nursing profession.
