Selection as defined by Lussier and Hendon (2013) is "The process of choosing the best qualified applicant recruited for a job" (p. 197). The selection process in my organization commences after applicants apply for an advertised position. Since many applicants apply for a single opening, there is need for evaluating the suitability of the candidates by the Human Resource Personnel in order to identify the best candidates from the large pool of applicants. The chosen candidates are sent for interviewing by a committee chosen by the Board of Directors comprising of Human Resource manager, Nurse managers, and a few other healthcare providers particularly in the nursing field. The nurse managers evaluates the familiarity of applicants as well as their aptitude in terms of expertise with nursing equipments (Markey and Tingle, 2012). Human resource personnel are responsible for ensuring the interviews are conducted within the set organization and federal guidelines. The committee then sends a recommendation to the Board for the final pronouncement (Rosdahi and Kowalski, 2008).
This election process is highly effective. Selecting individuals who are knowledgeable and well acquainted with all equipments involved in nursing is imperative as this helps prevent unnecessary medical errors (Rosdahi and Kowalski, 2008). Scientific jury selection involves the specific use of specific social science techniques in order to get the best favorable jurists for a particular trial. It has been observed in many trials, many factors affect the way the judges and jurists look at the accused.

There are six steps in the selection process. They are:
1) obtaining complete application forms,
2) conducting initial and follow-up interviews,
3) giving employment tests,
4) conducting background investigations,
5) obtaining results from physical exams,
It is the responsibility of the human resource department to recruit such employees, who can prove to be productive for the company. Human resource department is considered one of the most important departments of a company because it is concerned with the employees who are the most valuable assets of a company because they make their company able to compete in the world of competition.
The board of directors primarily could ensure that the organization has a deep bench or can develop a deep bench as it matures. The selection process should include an intimate introduction of the organization to the candidates as well as to the board of directors.
Organizations cannot operate without their human resources. In the contemporary, complex, competitive world, the choice of the most appropriate individual for a position has far reaching connotations in the organization’s functioning. Employees well selected would not only contribute to the efficient operation of the company but also offer momentum latent for future replacement.
It is, therefore necessary that one has an insight of the theory before getting into details of natural selection. This theory has its origin with Charles Darwin who went further to come up with an immense body of data in support of the theory. Before him, most scholars and scientists believed that the existence and adaptation of each organism was under the influence of the creator (Bootle, 2011).
