Healthcare Policy Articles Brill Steven. Good, bad and ugly: The depressing story behind Barrack Obama’s biggest achievement: http://www.economist.com/news/books-and-arts/21639432-depressing-story-behind-barack-obamas-biggest-achievement-good-bad-and-ugly?zid=318&ah=ac379c09c1c3fb67e0e8fd1964d5247f The key stakeholder in the author of the article, Steven Brill is presenting his dissent with the manner that the administration of President Barrack Obama is handling the “Obama Care” program.

According to Brill, the regime of President Obama has failed to guide implementation of the program as appropriate. Brill writes that Republican Party was the brainchild of the program but Democrats picked it when signs of winning elections of 2008 were manifesting. As discussed by Brill, the original purpose of the program was to provide affordable access to health care by the poor Americans. Brill points that towards election of 2008, candidate Obama promised to conduct a televised discussion on the program but later failed upon clinching presidency.

Instead, Obama and his ilk Congressmen met leaders of the industry whom the program was going to hurt. One reason that Brill presents s evidence for the failure of the Affordable Care Act relates to the withdraw of the administration of President Barrack Obama from negotiating and controlling prices of drugs intended for Medicare program. The second reason for failure of the Obama Care is that policy makers for the program first compelled many people to subscribe to the program without prioritizing review and fixing of heath care costs.

This move saw large people subscribe to the program with no governmental effort to control costs. The result has been big profits for drug maker, insurance firms, hospitals, and incentives for doctors. The issues presented by Brill in his article present challenging situations to health care organizations and patients. The fact many health care organizations liaise with insurance companies to extort money from patients has led many people to resort to self-diagnosis and over the counter drugs.

Patients also suffer because they have to pay huge insurance premiums but receive inferior care at exaggerated costs. Kolata Gina. Method of Study Is Criticized in Group’s Health Policy Tests: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/03/health/effort-to-test-health-policies-is-criticized-for-study-tactics.html The stakeholders in the article are the nonprofit advocacy organization called MDRC through its President Gordon Berlin and the Center for Global Development. Gina Kolata who is the author of the article claims the Innovation Center established as part of the Obama Care to research on the best way to handle the program will not yield proper outcomes.

To support the prediction, the author points at the small number of participants selected through nonrandom means. In addition, Kolata points that most of subjects tend to drop out before conclusions of research processes. Failure by the Innovation Center to conduct proper and relevant researches will lead to health care dispel to the patients and health care organizations. Health care organizations may not understand the best way to implement the Affordable Care Act to address its original purpose.

Patients may also face confusions about their responsibilities towards implementation of the law. Howell Tom. Obamacare officials admit blunder: 800K got faulty tax info from federal website: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/feb/20/obamacare-officials-give-penalty-payers-extra-time/ The stakeholders in the article are the American public and the American Government through the Ministry of Health. The purpose of the article is to inform the public about the challenges facing the Obama Care.

First, Tom Howell the author points at the tax errors over 800,000 Americans encountered while filing as a procedure to adapt to the Obama Care program. Another evidence of the challenges relates to the hard stance taken by the Republic Party to oppose and falter every aspect of the Affordable Care Act. Additional evidence relates to the delay by over 6million Americans to register to and start insuring under the health policy. The challenges discussed as facing the Obama Care can affect health care organizations and patients in various ways.

Among the various ways that the challenges can affect health care organizations difficulty to handle noninsured minor patients in terms of costing for services. Patients on the other hand will succumb to confusion as to the appropriateness of the Obama Care and even risk high penalties in case of noncompliance because of doubts. References Brill, S.
