Health care workers utilize monitoring equipment so as to keep track of the changes in the health conditions of clients. Recent surveys have indicated that the majority of aged persons prefer to see out the last of their days at home. This affords them the opportunity for independence and relative autonomy. Familiar surroundings allow elderly persons to recover faster from some ailments compared to when they would become admitted to hospitals. Telehealth systems can afford security and familiarity to patients.

Patients can recuperate safe in the knowledge that a health care professional monitors their condition and is at hand to provide needed medical assistance (Schlachta-Fairchild, 2007). Such care affords extra perks compared to the occasions when clients only get check-ups during official doctor visits. Therefore, patients can proceed to live fulfilling, independent lives. Elderly patients revel in the independence afforded to them by home medical care. As a result, elderly patients are observed to have strict adherence to prescribed treatments and medication.

Patients who take advantage of telehealth have been shown to manifest an improved understanding of their treatment process. In addition, such patients develop a positive attitude towards their treatment. Consequently, they show comfort in managing their medical care and also living a better quality of life. In many instances, patients over the age of 65 show stubbornness due to the vast generational gap with modern systems of health care (Schlachta-Fairchild, 2007). However, the adoption of telehealth can break down the barriers and allow them to experience better quality of life.
