From this approach, Watson cites the human being as general form of existence of life. A human being should be viewed by the caregiver as more than a life in need of medical help. To effectively attend to human beings, effective communication and assistance on their general being is required. The process is based on increasing the ability of the patient to cope with non-medical effects of their current situation. This goes beyond only addressing the medical issue in a particular body part. In generating a personal philosophy, a nurse should be able to understand the humanistic requirement of a patient during caregiving. This increases their efficiency of service delivery.
