Further, it was motivational to observe the order in which members gave their contribution. One at a time, everyone narrated their experience, expressing ways in which they have dealt with the challenges they faced. The foreseer guided them through the discussion to ensure question-asking was a productive exercise. There was more than just sharing of experiences in the support group. The session helped the depressed patients to improve on their interpersonal relationship skills, and socialize more with peers.
Essentially, depression is a serious health concern that troubles many people. However, it was easy to note that patients with depression are different from other mentally-ill people, such as the schizophrenic. They are more withdrawn, and less willing to involve in discussions.
