The causes of the condition involve persons who smoke, people with high blood pressure, high cholesterol body levels, and those suffering from diabetes. Risk factors for developing the condition depend on the individual’s age, medical condition, gender, and lifestyle choices. Most individuals especially men just like Steve are prone to acquiring the condition past the age of 50 years (Lockhart et al., 2012). Other risk factors for acquiring the condition include diabetes, cigarette smoking, overweight and obese individuals, hypertension, high blood cholesterol levels, and persons who have a history of heart disease in the family. In regards to the information, Steve is at great risk of acquiring the condition. Since he is overweight and lives a sedimentary life lacking any physical exercise. He is a smoker, he is also at risk of acquiring diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease since there is a history of these chronic and genetic illnesses (Fowkes et al., 2013). Moreover, his blood pressure is high as it is above the normal range.
