This essay describes thatthe rationale behind administering Metoprolol is that it lowers the demand of oxygen through the reduction of blood pressure, heart rate and the heart contractility. The morphine sulphate is administered to aid in relieving of breathlessness…
Hypertension may lead to heart failure. It increases the heart’s workload hence results in hypertrophy of cardiac muscle fibers. The filling of the heart is impaired during diastole. The hypertrophied ventricle fails to contract eventually and heart failure results. The nursing intervention implemented to prevent cardiac failure in this case is the administration of the antihypertensive medication to control blood pressure and maintain it within normal for the hypertensive patient. Another condition that may lead to cardiac failure is myocardial infarction. It refers to the cellular and the necrosis of the heart muscle tissue and it is irreversible that occurs as a result of prolonged ischemia. The contractility of the muscle is lost in the affected regions. If the affected regions are large complications arise and include cardiac failure. The appropriate nursing intervention to prevent progression to heart failure is by ensuring that the patient gets enough rest, administration of stool softeners to prevent straining, and giving of analgesics and the prescribed medication as ordered. The nurse should also insist that the patient should quit smoking. It refers to the inflammation that occurs in the cardiac muscle as a result of viral infection in most cases. The nursing interventions that need to be implemented to prevent heart failure include the administration of the prescribed medication as ordered aimed at treating the condition for example the steroids to combat the inflammatory process. ...

When the ventricles are weakened, the human body responds by activating the Frank-Starling mechanism and systemic vasoconstriction. However, it is the long term result of this activation that further aggravates the heart failure. A systolic heart failure is characterized by a decrease in the contractility of the myocardium resulting in decreased ejection fraction.
Those who have chosen to have nursing as a career must be aware of their roles in making their patients feel better, secure, and have a better quality of life, whether in acute, long-term or palliative care. Whatever disease the patients have, it is the nurses’ job to see to it that the patients’ health remains as the top priority.
The search yielded 4007 citations. Additional sources of information were bibliographies of identified articles, consensus guidelines and Internet searches. Whenever possible, I gathered data from large-scale randomized trials with clinically important end points (death and hospitalization) because these studies have the most rigorous designs and provide the most useful information.
If you have heart failure your heart cannot cope with pumping the full amount of blood each heartbeat. Heart failure is divided into various types. The main types are:
Left ventricular systolic dysfunction. This means that the left ventricle of the heart does not pump as well as it should do during each heartbeat.
They compete with adrenergic neurotransmitters (epinephrine and norepinephrine) for adrenergic receptor sites to produce the effects. They are contraindicated in uncompensated CHF, acute bronchospasm, some forms of valvular heart
And there are different roles of different players and stakeholders in the healthcare industry who ensure that persons with heart diseases are given the appropriate care and attention.

The study in Feltner, Jones, Cene, Zheng, Sueta, Coker-Schwimmer, Arvanitis, Lohr, Middleton & Jones (2014) emphasizes the clinical problem related to heart failure treatments. The problem emphasized thus has been grounded on the statistics of readmissions by heart failure patients within a few days of discharge, embarking a negative impression for the health care sector efficiency.
