Nursing and Change PPWA Student’s name Institution The very fundamental aspects that are deemed to be positive for nursing practice have not been as well understood as the actual caring for the infirm. The laws of nursing or health apply for both those that are sick and those that are healthy (Rains & Barton-Kriese, 2001).


Nursing has in the past in the present and in the future have an interest and influence in the workplace, public policy and government. It is common for the word politics to be deemed misplaced in a nursing setting since federal and state government actions are always looked on negatively. The nature of politics and the divisions therein make political participation seem distasteful to the nursing practitioner. However, it must be acknowledged that politics has a great impact and significance on how the nursing practitioner does his job and more important the good of the society (Ivanov & Blue, 2007). It is therefore incumbent upon the nursing practitioner to be informed as far as is necessary with regard to what is happening in politics in issues of policy and health care legislation. The current situation shows that many nursing practitioners do not engage in politics since they do not deem politics to be important for their practice. In order to explain this there are a variety of perspectives and theoretical models which have to be applied. The first level of change is the individual or psychological level of change. At this level of change an important aspect to be taken into consideration is the attitudes and opinions of the people (Roux & Halstead, 2009). ...
