Introduction

The role of proteins in cellular function is crucial because they produce the building blocks for cellular structure and form enzymes that catalyze all of the cell's chemical reactions, and regulate gene expression(Alberts, 2002).The transcription of each gene is controlled by regulatory region of DNA approximately near the site where transcription begins. Regulatory regions in animals are complex and act as tiny microprocessors, responding to different kind of signals that they translate and combine to switch the neighboring gene on or off. These switching consists of two types of fundamental components: 1) Short stretch of DNA of defining sequence and 2) Gene regulatory proteins that recognize and bind to them. Moreover, different collections of gene regulatory proteins are existing in different cell types and thereby direct the patterns of gene expression that produce each cell type its special characteristics. In this essay we will focus on some epigenetic mechanisms that are responsible in regulating gene expression in the development of an organism from an undifferential cell, resulting in the successive formation and development of organs and parts that did not pre–exist in the fertilized egg . Firstly, the core histone proteins and linker histones have been described genetically and biochemically as likely repressive to transcriptional initiation. ...

Infection Control
This discovery was made by Robert Koch, a renowned German scientist and physician in 1882 (Nobel Price 2012). It was referred to as white and consumption plague then because out of seven human beings dying, one had TB. More so, it carried away more than a third of the middle age group working force. The bacterium affects body organs such as kidneys, bones, brain and most commonly, the lungs…

Healthcare is provided to patients in different settings throughout the world. Whether the patients receive medical attention in makeshift clinics or in technologically advanced hospitals, there are chances that they may get infected by disease spreading micro organisms. These infections cause discomfort to the patient and hinder the recovery process and in severe cases may even cause death. As the…

Firstly the nursing staff should be aware of the proper procedure and principles of hand hygiene. They should know the correct technique to follow it. Secondly they should have the will to follow it. They should feel morally responsible for the patients and value their life. Lastly a great deal of effort has to come from the hospital to educate the staff and supply them with proper supplies…

Brain mechanisms underlying Parkinson disease.
Primary Parkinsonism and idiopathic Parkinson’s disease are terms used to distinguish PD from other forms of Parkinsonism (Pfeiffer et al 2012, p. 285). Discussion Being a chronic neurodegenerative disease, there are four main motor manifestations that characterize this medical condition. These cardinal signs are tremor at rest, bradykinesia, rigidity, and postural instability. It is worth…
