This paper presents my own reflection regarding my personal journey which formed a basis of the evolution of understanding and interpreting the essential features of leadership. These changes are based on societal standards, performance expectations and change in the work environment. Other variables that characterize the change in the corporate environment include competition dynamism, complexity, change and turbulence.
According to this theory, individuals would be motivated by the unsatisfied needs. As indicated by Lussier and Achua (80), physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging (social needs), esteem needs and self-actualization follow the order with which Maslow categorized human needs.
