The paper is aimed to analyze the different views regarding violence on the society with respect to time. One way of determining patterns of violence is through the different forms of media, e.g. movies. For the purpose of the paper, two movies had been chosen for comparative analysis, the Hellcats of the Navy (1957) and Saving Private Ryan (1999).
This is despite a huge step towards eliminating this blight on society. Discrimination can be overt or latent but it is a situation that is caused by personal and social biases. Attitudes towards discrimination can be a burden to some people in terms of job opportunities, educational attainment, access to health care services and in all sorts of social situations and other contexts.
One of the most common problems in any society is the prevalence of crime, both violent assaults and property crimes. High crime rate has been attributed to various factors, such as poverty, inequality, lack of moral value, greed for material things and human nature among other factors.
In the context of the US, we can very well understand the great change that has taken place in the meaning and role of families. The fashion of the society is the basis of family and the materialistic, money and power motivated culture has made the meaning and significance of family.
There are objective social realities like poverty, racism, sexism etc that cause social problems of material or psychological anguish to the people and they form part of such a definition. However, subjective factors always occupy a position in the definition of social problems. The myths and official dogma that exist at the time also affect the definition.
Each society has a different perception of social problems and normal behaviour in one society might be perceived as an issue in another community. Social problems are interlinked to all other problems prevailing in a society (Anyon, 2014)
