The United States of America is like that new house to immigrants, legal or illegal. Many have spent all their lives living here. To many second and third generation immigrants, this is all there is. So illegal immigrants, in my opinion, should stay in the United States; they should be given the chance to become legal. Evicting illegal immigrants would require an unimaginable amount of resources. There are estimates of 11 to 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States (Saad, 2007). The resources required to first trace and then evict them would be colossal. Some experts say that it is not necessary to evict every single one of them. A hard crackdown and the eviction of a few thousand would send out a clear message to the rest that they were better off leaving. However, others believe that immigrants already braving everything to remain in the United States would employ more diligent measures to remain uncaught (Tamar Jacoby as cited in Jacoby, 2007). For most of these illegal immigrants, they choose to try their luck in the United States of America, which has been branded as the land of “milk and honey” throughout history. America earned the perception as the land of profusion, wealth and incessant opportunities.
Water present in the forms of oceans and sea governs the life on Earth, whereas a petite faction of its, is the land with a mixture of gases. The world consists of seven continents and copious countries in it, out of which Untied States of America is one of it.
That is because this particular sector of our society has always found itself in a predicament. The parents are illegal immigrants so they must be forced out of the United States. However, there are those of them who use the fact that their children are born on American soil as the main reason that they feel they should not be deported.
Experts handling the immigrants should not only pay attention to the time the immigrants spend in the US, but should also try to understand the reasons for migrating into the US, their experience in their new place, their resources that are essential in operating in the host country, and the nature of reception in the new country.
America has then successfully marketed its model for growth to the entire world. As a nation of multinationals, nearly every American citizen can trace his lineage back to immigrant ancestors. Creating a national identity means sharing the same language; governed by a single government and a little common culture with the same aim and dream for peace and prosperity.
