Comparing two people - Research Paper Example

Last year I had a chance to work on a project for school with two mates. The two mates were completely different in terms of personalities. One of the team members was a joy to work with. The person was responsible, attentive, and very nice. She turned in all the project deliveries on time. She was an active listener that was willing to sacrifice herself for the team. This person worked extra hard on the project. She volunteered to perform the toughest tasks. During the two weeks that we worked together I realized that this person was an excellent teammate and possibly the best partner I have had the privilege to work with.

The second person that composed the team was totally different. This person was an unreliable teammate whose actions ended up hurting the team as far as the grade we received. He was irresponsible and always making excuses. Because of him we had to reschedule meetings about four times because he would not come to the team meetings. Even when he showed up he ended up coming about 30 minutes late for each meeting. In the meetings he barely participated. We had a brainstorming session in which I and my other teammate came up with four ideas each for the project.

During that brainstorming session he did not contribute any ideas whatsoever. At one point I thought we would have been better off without him on the team. This experience taught me that the personality of a person influences the work performance.
