Todd Manini, the head researcher of the team and an Exercise Physiologist, wanted to find out the beneficial value of the “just usual” daily activities to the elderly. Found out that 600 calories is equivalent to approximately 2 hours length of physical activity which could either be derived from a structured gym exercise or simply a variety of routine household activities such as washing the dishes, vacuuming the house, or gardening. All the same, there is need to point out that age does not necessarily commit one to a slow life. One can still be able to continue with their activities albeit under more comfortable and safer environments. Arguably, aging is more than a despair, disease, or disability. There is a variety of disadvantages attached to old age, however, aging has some advantages attached to it.
