Sex Workers Rights Prostitution is a major issue among many feminist, but as Thierry s, prostitution should not be a major issue for feminist since many freedom sex workers desire for their jobs are equal rights as to any other women’s right to the job they deserve (Wendy, 2). Schaffauser broadens the concept by pointing out that the prostitution stigma is a way of controlling women and also, a way of limiting the womans autonomy, whether it is sexual professional, economical or simply the freedom of movement.

Feminism can be defined as the movement to end the oppression of the women. As Hooks explains, one way of understanding a woman is by taking it as a sex term. Many feminist for long has understood a woman as a gender as opposed to a sex term.Feminist has currently broken phonograph into three positions. The most common position is taken that pornography is a male cultural way of expression whereby women are exploited and commodified. The second position is the liberal position which integrates the principle of the woman’s body with the respect for freedom of speech, the rights of women and hence generating the argument that even though prostitution is not a justified act, the women have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies.

The third view is that some feminist claims that pornography has some benefit to the women, gender and the view is a defense of pornography (KaeLyn 2).The anti pornography feminist takes the women who are against pornography as either apologist for pornographers or that they are brainwashed people fools of patriarchy. In the anthology “sexual liberals and attack on feminism,” the author indicates that women has the right to make their decisions about pornography are spreading stupid lies (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy 2).

Andréa accuses this feminist of operating a protection racket for sex and she holds that those how defends pornography can never be feminists.Many of the liberal feminists who are against prostitution of women are often uncomfortable and in turn, tend to be silent about the act while those who try to air out their views are mostly ignored. Many of the pro-sex feminist were either former sex workers or they are currently commercializing sex and they usually respond with anger rather than arguing the facts out.

Schauffauser states that little girls and women are brought up in a manner that makes them believe that sex workers are bad women. This prevents the women from fighting for the rights that the sex workers fight for, such as public space and the occupation of night-time or the ways they can impose sex contracts whereby the conditions for the contract have to be negotiated and respected (KaeLyn 1).Even though not all women are brought up in a way that makes them judge the sex workers, she claims that sexual contacts and public spaces are on the spot.

She indicates that even though many women are advised not to walk alone at nights or when they are dressed in a provocative manner, sex workers usually do this as part of their daily life in their line of duty even though they still need the freedom from sexual harassment (Gillis, Howie and Munford 28).It is also very unfortunate that many groups are stigmatized for being in public places during night hours and not only the sex workers, even those who cannot find their way home due to several factors such as lack of transportation or even due to insecurity in their neighborhood finds it harder to defend the freedom of remaining in public places during the night hours as a freedom for everyone (Anna, 2).

Those doing the prostitution work claims that the idea of sex is an agreement between two or more persons and it is not something done by one person to the other and hence prostitution should be globally embraced regardless of whether the sexual act is paid for or not.Works CitedAnna, North.
