January 30, Knowledge Areas In terms of two knowledge areas, the paper delves on how shared knowledge shapes an individual’s current personal knowledge. The paper focuses on the human science knowledge area. Human science involves economics, history, ethics and sociology. The paper focuses on natural science knowledge area, including physics. Shared knowledge is dominant over personal knowledge (Hurrelmann 37). Further, shared knowledge refers knowledge that is common, popular, or currently implemented within a group or community (Hurrelmann 37). Shared knowledge can influence personal knowledge within four themes. My research focuses on the socialisation theme as well as the culturisation theme. Culturisation can include the individuals’ acquiring the experiences and values of other communities, societies, or ethnic groups. The theme experiences can be within the science, art, or religion categories. The socialisation theme can be described as the human science aspect of implementing group culture or tradition. For example, infants learn the basic skills or capacities needed to survive within the community or conform to society’s stringent policies. Moreover, society’s shared knowledge positively helps the citizens survive within one’s environment. Children grow up imitating what the average person does. The socialization theme encourages the growing child to accept both society’s prescribed internalities and externalities (Hurrelmann 37). Consequently, the individuals adopt the required does and do not does of society. As the person grows, society’s shared knowledge significantly influences the growing and learning individual’s personal knowledge. In terms of knowledge areas, shared knowledge shapes personal knowledge within the natural science knowledge area. Shared knowledge within the natural sciences category includes Physics knowledge. Physics knowledge helps explain and how certain activities occur. Scientists and researchers constantly strive to find solutions to everyday hindrances, problems, or unfavourable situations. Other researchers and scientists replicate the experiments of prior individuals. Shared Physics knowledge includes Einstein’s relativity concept. The Physics experiment can be applied to medical research, discovering new drugs (Fred 249). Consequently, individuals use the shared electricity knowledge to improve their lives. The shared knowledge of how electricity lights up the home enhances one’s personal knowledge on how to lessen electricity expenses. Shared knowledge dictates that the monthly electricity cost will increase if more electrical appliances are used. Consequently, the homeowner’s personal knowledge includes the individuals determining how many appliances are used and for how long within the one month time period. To reduce electricity expenses, the homeowner reduces the number of hours electrical appliances are used as well as the number of electrical appliances within each one month period (Fred 249). Further, some individuals personally apply the shared Einstein knowledge to their jobs and other daily activities. Shared Einstein knowledge enhances the physicians’ healthcare personally knowledge conduct experiments. The medical professionals use experiments to apply Einstein’s shared knowledge theories to invent new medicines or health care procedures. Engineers use Einstein’s relativity concept shared knowledge to their personal knowledge to enhance the GPS tracking software (Damour 56). In addition, a new set of researchers often replicate the experiments of prior researchers’ and expert’s shared knowledge to affirm or negate the prior shared knowledge findings. For example, society previously accepted the shared knowledge that the sun revolved around the earth. During this time period, the accepted shared knowledge of the nation is that our Earth is the Universe’s Centre (Backman 53). Consequently, the residents’ personal knowledge includes adhering to the shared knowledge that the earth is the universe center. However, today’s individuals know that the shared knowledge indicates the Earth revolves around the Sun. as expected, the personal knowledge of today’s average person includes adhering to the current shared knowledge that the sun is the center of our Milky Way galaxy. Further, the government plays a vital role in ensuring the residents greatly benefit from the shared knowledge, especially in the natural sciences. The government delivers beneficial shared knowledge to the residents. Shared knowledge includes the most effect medical treatments for each medical ailment. The shared knowledge includes explaining how hurricanes and tornadoes work. The government warns people to escape from an approaching hurricane, fire, blizzard or tornado. Consequently, the hurricane and tornado shared knowledge will replace the individuals’ personal knowledge that it is okay attend the open air basketball tournament on the date the hurricane or tornado will crop up. Disregarding the shared weather warning will result to the game being cancelled because basketball cannot be played while the tornado or hurricane is within the basketball court’s location. This clearly shows that shared knowledge is more dominant than personal knowledge. In addition, the government warns the people to avoid places where danger to life or property is eminent. Further, the government’s shared knowledge espousing penalties for illegal activities will dominate the citizen’s personal knowledge that the illegal activities can be implemented. The shared knowledge discourages the people from committing any crime. The individuals’ personal knowledge of the consequences, including fines and penalties, on the law-violating citizen will help reduce crime within the community (Adu196). In terms of knowledge areas, shared knowledge shapes personal knowledge within the human science knowledge area. For a tourist, personal knowledge of how the foreign country’s government is run (shared knowledge) will affect the tourist’s personal knowledge. After receiving shared knowledge that North Korea implements communism concepts will discourage the tourist from visiting North Korea. After receiving shared knowledge that the South Korean government is grounded on democracy, the tourist’s personal knowledge may include eagerly visiting South Korea’s famous tourism landmarks. Consequently, each North Korean resident has personal knowledge that they will be penalized by the government for violating any of its communist policies. To avoid being punished, the people personally know that they must do their best to adhere to the prevailing government laws (Saxonberg 107). Furthermore, the economics shared knowledge concepts fall under the human science category, specifically social science. In a bakery setup, all the bakers have shared bread-making knowledge. They all know how to bake bread. Consequently, the senior bakers eagerly teach the novice new baker learn how to improve his or her bread making skills (Arena 459). Consequently, the shared baking knowledge enhances the novice bakers to learn (personal knowledge) from the senior bakers how to make the best quality breads (shared knowledge). Constantly changing shared economics knowledge indicates everyone who enrolls in Economics class can learn the shared supply concept and the demand knowledge concept. Growing up, individuals personally hear the shared knowledge words supply as well as demand from television, newspaper, radio, and internet news reports. The individuals’ acquired shared knowledge indicates there is high demand for some products. Other individuals will personally learn that the scarcity of goods will lead to higher market selling prices. Personal knowledge from store inquiries will indicate to the curious store customers that the stores add a certain profit amount to the cost of the store products in order to recover the stores’ daily operating expenses. Consequently, the supply concept and the demand shared knowledge concept will enhance or replace the personal knowledge errors or wrong information of the information receiver (Hurrelmann 62). When the individuals actually purchase from the market, the individuals learn to find the cheapest or most reasonably priced product or service. Others personally learn to purchase only high quality products and services, learning from their prior mistakes. The prior personal knowledge mistakes include purchasing poor quality products and services. To increase store sales, the store owners and managers offer discounts, high quality products, or high quality services to the prospective and present store customers. Moreover, the counterargument that shared knowledge does not dominate personal knowledge within both the natural science knowledge area and human science knowledge area is flawed. For example, the natural science shared knowledge among medical professionals and researchers states Ebola virus can be easily transmitted from one person to another. Consequently, the shared knowledge persuades the individuals to personally do everything possible to avoid being one of the next Ebola virus victims. This affirms that shared knowledge shapes and dominates the people’s personal knowledge, especially erroneous or misinformed personal knowledge. The individual’s erroneous personal knowledge that the Ebola virus can be cured with current low cost antibiotics is easily replaced by the dominant shared knowledge concept stating there is currently no cure for the Ebola virus. Next, the informed individual will use the newly acquired shared knowledge-based personal knowledge to prevent being another virus patient (Shors 191). Failure to comply may lead to Ebola virus death. Further, the human science knowledge area dictates that shared knowledge enhances the students’ personal knowledge. The shared knowledge states that students must pass all the academic subjects in order to graduate. Shared knowledge among the classmates helps each student survive the complex academic requirements, passing all subjects. The shared knowledge persuades the students to replace their current lazy personal knowledge is replaced with the shared knowledge steps on how to increase academic grades. To get higher academic test scores, each student’s personal knowledge includes implementing the shared knowledge on how the pass the academic requirements. Failure to use the academic shared knowledge to enhance personal academic knowledge may lead to the student’s failing academic scores (Baker 99). Concluding, shared knowledge includes common or popularly accepted knowledge within a group or community. Personal knowledge is one that is unique to one individual. The areas of knowledge include human science knowledge and natural science knowledge. Evidently, shared knowledge is significantly dominant over an individual’s personal knowledge. Shared knowledge effectively and favourably shapes and positively enhances the individual’s personal knowledge, improving the individual’s work, study, and other activities within the realms of both the natural science knowledge area and the human science knowledge area.
