Extract of sample "Cycling as a Crucial Part of My Life"

Since childhood, I have been a good cyclist and I possess the ability to go for long distances on my bike without getting tired.

As a small child, I could challenge older children in cycling despite the fact that some of them had started cycling before me. My parents bought me a bike that I went cycling with during the weekends together with my brother. Since I discovered my talent, I have come to love cycling and I consider it a crucial part of my life. I am a member of my school cycling team and the coach always includes me during all competitions. Cycling has become my passion and I have significantly improved over time.

During the last competitions I attended, I emerged number three and managed to outdo many cyclists despite the stiff competition from experienced cyclists. As a cyclist, I can use my talent to make the world a better place. One of the ways in which cycling can help in making the world a better place is by using the activity for purposes of charity. As a sporting activity, cycling is instrumental in raising funds to address illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDs, as well as other terminal illnesses that ought to be addressed.

Cyclists can organize races to help improve the living conditions of needy and vulnerable populations in society. Cycling can also be used to raise awareness about lifestyle conditions such as obesity and overweight. Being a form of exercise, cycling can help to educate people on healthy habits and how to avoid lifestyles that can have detrimental impacts on their health. Thus, I can use this talent to reduce such cases. Another way in which this talent can make the world a better place is by reducing the levels of stress.

Cycling can help in advocating for stress-free lives by urging people to engage in regular exercise. People who use bicycles are less likely to suffer from conditions of stress compared to their counterparts who use cars. Cycling can sensitize people to commute using bicycles and thus reduce the level of pollution caused by emissions from automobiles (Davies and Jeremy 105).
