Support the Capital punishment The issue of capital punishment like death penalty raises significant ethical concerns. Various theories have been advance for and against capital punishment. The proponents of death penalty have their ground on which they attempt to convince the society to uphold the act.In respect of Kant theory on ethics, capital punishment is considered applicable on the following reasons. The moral obligation of the society to protect its citizen’s welfare and safety justifies capital punishment.

Murders and killers are a threat to the wellbeing of the community and death penalty ensures that such convicted killers do not have opportunity to attempt killing one more time.According to utilitarian ethical approach, capital punishment will yield the highest balance of good over evil by deterring further violent acts (Kramer 56). In this regard, those who have committed such crimes like murder once subjected to death penalty serve as an example that prevents potential criminals.Death penalty helps protect several victims of murder which would significantly depopulate the society (Hood,et al.65). In other words, one person can be a serial killer and take many lives and in the context of utilitarian approach, this would be mitigating loss of lives.

Justice emphasizes equality and death penalty is a justification for those convicted of murder. This is moral balance which equates the lost innocent lives in the hands of the killers hence relevance and acceptance of capital punishment. It is worth to conclude that capital punishment is generally important in as far as protecting the law abiding citizen’s is concerned.Work CitedsKramer, Matthew H.
