E.g. manners, anger, love etc. Behavior refers particularly to the way a person behaves in response to others. There are two types of behaviors, social and antisocial. Social behavior is acceptable to the community.e.g unconditional love for gender, race, and disability etc. Whereas antisocial behavior is not acceptable by the community. E.g. anger, arrogance, harassment, violence etc. Here, we will talk about social behavior with special reference to children. It is obvious that nowadays a child’s behavior is worse than ten years ago. There is susceptibility that children are becoming more violent than ever before. The media shows extensive reports of children taking drugs and showing explicitly violent behavior. Where girls are indulging in premarital sex at a very early age (cause illegal abortions and increased rate of deaths). Children have less disciplined than the older times. There are many reasons for this turn down in children discipline, one of the most important and might even be the root cause of all the others is negligence and carelessness from parents’ side. Parental negligence has increased the risks of destructive factors, which have as a result damaged children’s sense of ethics, morality, and discipline. The other reasons include: Firstly, Parents are not being able to carryout their responsibilities for taking care of their children, parents criticize the importance of the family as the main source of the children’s primary socialization. Whereas the Sociologists agree that behavior can be learnt through a process called socialization (Schultz, 2012).There are two types of socialization. Primary and secondary, Primary socialization is quite different from secondary socialization, it occurs during the initial stages of development of a child (Schultz, 2012). The child learns from his environment and surroundings in this stage. In this process child learns the kind of behavior that stimulates the approval or disapproval from the people around them that is mostly instant family unit. (Schultz, 2012). So, it is therefore important for a child to learn and adapt the right things, likely from their family members (Richardson, 2005). Unfortunately, parents are there to accomplish this important process. (Schultz, 2012). Furthermore, it is very common in U.S. that children faced the breakup of their parents in childhood and brought up in broken families; they have passed through intense depressions and tensions of living apart from their parents (Schultz, 2012). In addition, even if parents keep their children with them, they have not heeded proper attention and guidance on them, which is very important. Secondly, Parents do not prepare their children on how to cope with the manners in which society asks and demands today. They do not teach them moral and social ethics. They leave them to learn by their own, either from the media or from internet. That is why, it is considered to be essential for “personal independence” which has become widespread in the public area. And experts emphasize that these behaviors are, to some extent, a “reflection of their own changing perspective of authority and authority figures” .Infect the way in which people have asked the motives of the people belonging to different fields e.g. lawyers, doctors, politicians has been so exceptional when compared to the way parents have done ten or some years ago . The Generation Y wishes to be taught on how to be “Generation Why?” without being discourteous (Children, n.d). Thirdly, the schools which, also play a vital role in children’ development. Parents put in their trust and give the responsibility of fostering their children, have done nothing but to increased the children’s rational insight (Schultz, 2012). Since the schools are not being able at forming the children’s moral behavior and character. The teachers don’t pay attention to their character building; rather take it for granted and think that children are taught things like table manners, good neighborhood at their homes; they don’t need to do this. It is true that teaching has become a tough job due to children’s bad behaviors. Most teachers have the same opinion that “although the children have increased number of problems in the recent decades, and younger children are showing up these problems increasingly, therefore making teaching a tougher job” (Schultz, 2012). The children are not learning properly. They use improper or bad language and not following teachers’ directions (Schultz, 2012). Despite of the fact that the schools should nurture the behaviors of children teachers ask the parents to “talk to [their] child [ren] every day … give confidence to [their] child[ren] to tell [them] if they have had any problems with other children” (Schultz, 2012). Fourthly, since the parents have gone the backseat in the matters relating to the upbringing of their children, the media has filled in this gap. Therefore, most of the young people have made some famous personalities as their role models, movie superstars, rappers, models, actors and many other popular personalities. (The Australian Psychology Society, n.d.). Children love those people and follow blindly on whatever they say or act. (The Australian Psychology Society, n.d). Most of these media contents are sadistic or pornographic. (The Australian Psychology Society, n.d.). The trouble is that even if these people really cared about their impression and impact of their activities on children, then they should not done anything in this regard to guide the kids in a positive directions because they out to do this to earn money (The Australian Psychology Society, n.d). Today, most of the movies are based on predominant, aggressive and sexual overtones and concepts. (The Australian Psychology Society, n.d). It is proved that aggressive and violent media have bad effects on child’s behavior .Prolonged disclosure to violent television is also one of the reasons which results into children showing aggressive behavior-this is the case for both the short-term and long-term (The Australian Psychological Society, n.d). It has observed that some children like to watch violent and scary movies. Movie creators have rightly asserted that their work is just to reveal the reality. It is not their work to provoke violent behaviour among young people or create a sense of brutality in them (Schmidt, 2005) However, if we carefully observe the situation then it seems that the main the cause of this problem is parental negligence. Therefore, it is important for parents to regain their lost love and play a strong role as the mentor of discipline and morality for their children. The parents’ role of disciplining and polishing the children should not be given to any other person. As the recent attempts by parents to give these responsibilities to schools and day care centers have done nothing but exploitation of the child’s future. By getting rid from their responsibilities, parents have exposed their children to a number of disastrous factors, some of which are truly dangerous. In conclusion, due to the Parental negligence the foundation of the family has became very weak at the initial stage of the child’s mental and ethical development and the basis of primary socialization. The parents themselves should portray them as ideal role models for children, but unfortunately, this is no longer the case as this role has been given in to the hands of ineffective schools and the media. SELF EVALUATION  1. What is your topic? I have chosen to write about why children behavior has gone worse as compared to their behavior 10 years ago. 2. What are the possibly different main claims/positions related to this topic? (There will be at least two (2) possibly different claims/positions, but there could be more; however, one of them will be YOUR claim/position.) My claim is that the children who have been brought up by both parents (mother and father) in a happy family environment are much intelligent. While, the second claim is this it is not necessary that the presence or care of both parents is important for the sharpness and productivity of any child. 3. What is your position regarding the topic? The behaviors of the children have gone worse as compared to the old days for which both parents are equally responsible. 4. What ?evidence have you offered to support your claim/position? Have you included your survey results? This analysis was made through personal observation and conducting some informal interviews from various people. 5. Put your claim/position and ?evidence? through the ?Scientific Method? and ?Proving a theory? steps. Are there any steps on which your claim/position and evidence do not measure up to the examination? If so, what can you do to make them more acceptable? So far, I have not found my collected information to be not measuring up to the examination. But, there is always room for improvement. 6. Who is your intended audience? Audience for this paper is that every person who is willing to know why there is a shift in the behavior of the children, specifically parents and/or any other person who wants to share this opinion. 7. What is your purpose? What do you want the audience to do, to feel, or to think? Remember that a persuasive paper is always asking for some sort of response from the audience. The purpose of this paper is to make parents realize their responsibility so that the behavior of the children could be controlled and the media should also fulfill its responsibilities in this regard... 8. What words or phrases have you used to make your audience to do, feel, or think the way that you want them to do, feel, or think? Include all of your motivational or empathetic ?cue for your audience. Here are some phrases, which can attract their attention “talks to their children every day … give confidence to their children to tell them if they have had any problems with other children” 9. How can your position actually better meet the needs of your audience than other possible positions? I have very strong position and that is why it can meet my audience’s requirements better than others. The reason is my research, my time and thinking put into this dissertation, not only that but also added my life experiences. 10. What more might your audience need to know before they believe that they need to do, to feel, or to think that what you are suggesting should in fact cause them to be doing, feeling, or thinking something? I have put enough of my practical knowledge in this to make audience feel and have desire to do as well, therefore I believe that if some people do not have children, for instance, they should move back and look at the examples of a single mother or father and try to understand what their children does not have, what pains and anxieties those children are facing not only physically but also emotionally and psychologically. What important things are missing out from their lives? 11. What position that is different from yours might cause your audience not to accept your position? (Note: There may be more than one.) Now that you have identified it, what do you need to add to your own argument to convince your audience that this alternate position should be rejected in favor of your own position? Here could be the question that what are the points, which cause my audience to not accept my position? And that I need to add to my own arguments to persuade my audience that this alternating position should be discarded off in the favor of my own position? Well my argument is that I have heard a lot of people saying that they were divorced, and the mother or the father didn’t like the other parent to even see that child. So I will suggest such couple that they must try to understand such situations seriously. They should not waste their time. The meaning of divorce is that the parents of the child could understand and get along just couldn’t get along. 12.
