The planet is almost in equilibrium so the amount of incoming energy is almost equal to the amount of outgoing energy. The energy that…

Introduction

y balance between how much shortwave radiation emitted by the sun is absorbed by the earth and then how much long wave is reflected back in the space. During this whole process, some of it is absorbed by the earth heating the planet. This process is known as the green house effect it has been very important in maintaining the earth’s energy balance and its temperature making it livable for humans and animals.
The atmosphere of earth is made out of many gases including nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide water vapors and little amounts of other gases and dust particles. The energy that comes into the earth’s atmosphere in the form of radiations is also called solar energy which travels at the speed of light, and enters the earth’s atmosphere from travelling 93 million miles from space in 8 minutes. If this energy didn’t leave the earth’s atmosphere then the earth would either heat up or cool down without having any balance.
Only by existing humans have made great changes in the environment and negatively affected the world’s living ecosystem. Ecosystem is the environment in which animals, humans and plants interact with each other. There are many reasons to the current environmental problems that we have in the world the main reason is the over use of resources that cannot be renewed such as gas, oil, metal and coal. The over consumption of these elements has increased in the past 30-40 years. Following are one of the many environmental problems causing misbalance in the world’s ecosystem:
Deforestation is a process in which the tree cover is reduced all over the world. it is also defined as the drastic change in the climate. Cutting down the forests all around the world threatens to change the climate pattern of the world. For example in Brazil the patterns of rainfall and also disturbing the winter and summer seasons.
It is a process in which a piece of land that was once usable is turned into a desert which happens by ...

The rise in temperature also contributed to the melting of glaciers, increase in floods and hurricanes. Plants and trees are much important in retaining the temperature of the earth by consuming carbon dioxide to make food for them. If the number of plants and trees lessens, there will be an in increase in the carbon footprints as conceived by the current carbon foot print ratio. A research on the…
The Earth energy-balance
This phenomenon is known as earth energy budget or earth energy balance. There are many factors that can deteriorate this balance and can contribute to significant changes in the climate of the earth. Earth Atmosphere: To understand how energy is received and returned to maintain energy balance it is important to understand what constitutes the atmosphere. There are five layers that surrounds the…

The resulting electron radiation is released in bundles of light energy which travel at a speed of 299 792 458 m / s, equivalent to the speed of light, as quantized harmonic waves. This electromagnetic waves are grouped according to their wavelength and the this results in the electromagnetic spectrum. The resultant magnetic and electric waves move perpendicularly to each other having certain…

In an article entitled “Maryland’s Environment: A 20,000 Year History of Change” published online, it was revealed that the state exhibits an ecologically diverse landscape accurately described to include river systems in areas such as the Chesapeake Bay, the Delaware River, and the Ohio River drainages; mountain ranges; granite bedrocks; unconsolidated sediments; among others (Marylands…

Examining Your Community’s Source of Energy
The energy produced and used in Texas comes from various sources, both renewable and non-renewable. Most of this energy however comes from non-renewable sources. In Dallas, the most common types of energy used to power homes is electricity derived from hydro, electricity derived from nuclear power, and natural gas. Electricity plays a major role in the economy of Dallas as it provides the energy…
Sustainable Energy Applications Discuss Solar Energy
growth in the field of solar energy is remarkable due to the improvement of technologies and by the support provided by the policies implemented by the government in the field of development of solar energy and its use (Timilsina, Kurdgelashvili, and Narbel). There are mainly 2 types of technologies to generate solar energy, and they are: solar thermal and solar photovoltaic (PV). The former deals…
