IRAQS –KUWAIT CON 1. Introduction Iraq was the former occupier of Kuwait and their international relation between them has been violent, broughtby Iraq debt and conflicts over oil. Iraq and Kuwait relations were characterized by Iraqi government not willing to recognize Kuwait as a separate state. Since Kuwait independence, Iraqigovernment sought various opportunities to occupy and annexKuwait. With this 1961,a short –lived crisis evolved 1961,as Iraqi government threatened to invadeKuwait. This crisis short-lived due to plans by Arab league to form an international Arab force against Iraqi designs on Kuwait. After that series of conflicts have ruptured between them until 2012 where the relations between the two have picked up momentum, reflecting renewed political will from the leadership of both countries. 1.1. What are Iraq's intentions towards Kuwait? The Kuwaiti government says that Iraq still has hostile intentions towards the region and them. According to Reuters April 2,2001,The weekly cabinet meeting of Kuwait, a statement was issued that says that Iraq’s policies were to blame for the “"tragic reality faced by the Iraqi people and the region...which will only lead to further tension and lack of security. “With the following statement issued, Iraqstill has the intensions to invade Kuwait in spite their relations. 1.1. Will Iraq invade Kuwait? It will be hard for them to invade Kuwait due to recent good political will and leadership of the two countries, the leadership has try its best with the help of the regional leadership 1.2. Will Iraq open negotiations? The negotiation platform will only be opened by Iraq, if there will be any war that may materialized .For now, I don’t see any war emerging .With the good leadership of Iraq, if there need be, negotiations can be open by Iraq. 1.3. Question to be answered about specific research question a. According to my specific research questions, the type of study is predictive. b. The dependent variable is ,Iraq open negotiations with Kuwait c. No. d. The case study to be investigated is the relationship between Iraq and Kuwait. It should be given the in-depth study to see whether there can be any conflict. e. Yes. Some of the obvious answersare; Iraq will open negotiations due to the good political will and leadership. Its obvious answer because Iraq has got new leadership now which is willing to negotiate. f. No 1.4. Itis with my concern that Iraq still need oil for economic superioty and Kuwait has got this oil.So there may be need to invade Kuwait by Iraq to have this oil. This may happen if the Kuwaiti government may refused to settle the debt they have. This is also known as the October War. During the time of Yom Kippur, Israel was headed by Golda Meir and Egypt by Anwar Sadat. The Yom Kippur War began with a surprise Arab attack on Israel .On this juncture, Egyptian and Syrian military forces started an attack knowing that the military of Israel would be participating in the religious celebrations associated with Atonement. So, their guard would temporarily be dropped. The Israel was able to assume back an attack on Egypt’s that made Egyptians to drop their weapons. America sponsored peace talk that led to signing of peace between the two nations. Possible hypothesis a. American sponsoring the peace talk between the Israel and Egypt led to peace. b.
