In addition, his lack of interest in foreplay before sex cannot be improved by use of Viagra, in contrary, Viagra tablets may worsen the levels of foreplay he engages in since it gives him more desire for penetration. Another reason why Viagra may not be the solution to James’s problem is that his sexual health will also be affected by his wife’s enjoyment of the same; previously his wife has been faking orgasms but with the increased discomfort, she may be unable to continue faking orgasms, which may demoralise James in regard to his sex life.

Use of Viagra may also create a false impression to James that he is sexually satisfying his wife which in real sense may not be true since it is not only penetration that matters. For instance, the discomfort that his wife has will not be solved by James being able to maintain an erection for a longer period, in the contrary, it will worsen the discomfort in his wife. Marriage counselling and focus on their sex life The part of the dilemma that the counsellor will point out as belonging to Yaleena to acknowledge and address is where she fails to communicate with her husband about her sexual needs and instead she opts to fake orgasms, this is because faking orgasms and remaining silent about her sexual demands could not help them improve their sexual life.

Since perimenopause involves several changes within a woman’s body, several issues will need to be addresses in Yaleena’s life, such issues include vagina dryness, which may be causing the discomfort during penetration, low libido, weight gain, irregular periods, urinary incontinence among other issues that are specific to each woman. The counsellor is also likely to point out that it is Yaleena’s responsibility to help her husband to get and maintain an erection, which she has not been fulfilling due to the notion that the man is the one who is responsible for his erection.

The part of the dilemma that the counsellor should point out is where James does not wish to seek help from his wife in getting or maintaining an erection since he believes that a man should not seek help from his wife in regard to his sexual problems. Another issues that the counsellor should point out is James’s use of Viagra without consulting his wife first, in addition, it is also James’s responsibility to ensure that the he arouses his wife before he can penetrate. As the society expected James to be in charge of the couple’s sexual life, he should have been responsible in ensuring that his wife also enjoyed sex instead of assuming that she was enjoying.

The counsellor is likely to point out lack of communication between the couples as the greatest cause of their poor sex life, which was James responsibility to initiate it. Treatment options available for the couple to improve their sex life Some of the treatment that is available for Yaleena includes exercising in order to reduce the weight gain that is associated with perinmenopause, in addition, due to the dryness of her vagina, he should use vagina lubricants. Since Yaleena does not enjoy sex, she should seek a sex therapist who will help her enjoy sex more with James.

Other treatments available to ensure that Yaleena is able to manage her perimenopause period include taking foods that are rich in
