Qualitative nature is seen to have a range of philosophies, research design and specific techniques which include the in-depth qualitative interviews, participants and non-participants’ observation, document analysis, focus groups and other methods used in data collection (Sherrad, 1997). Having a range of data types, there is a wide scope of methodological and theoretical approaches in studying design and data analyzing. The best method of carrying out a “good qualitative research” involves the choice of a method of the research, choice of sampling technique, collection of data, analysis of data and, results and conclusion (applicability).

According to Yardley (2000), these research steps must meet the evaluation criteria. In carrying out a good qualitative research, selection of methodology is the first step. To ensure my research has an impact to the society, I will choose a topic that will have direct practical implications and a solution to the societal challenges. In addition, I will ensure that the aims and objectives of research and research questions are known and well explained from which an appropriate method of research can be selected.

To achieve a coherence between the method of research and the aim of the research, I will gather enough theoretical background through reading of many literary materials in order to choose the right methodology for my study. This stage is robust more so when a researcher can demonstrate establishment of a method in reference to a given body of literature (Smith, 2008). Ensuring that the reference literature states its objective clearly, one can be able to make a judgement on the appropriate selection of the methodology and analyze whether they meet the criteria.

Sampling is the second stage in carrying out a good qualitative research. To have a good qualitative research, I will ensure that there is enough detail about sampling techniques and clearly establish the rationale and the theory behind them (Denzin & Lincoln, 1994). It is important to note that this stage is commonly omitted in most qualitative articles, but is the key element of a good qualitative research The third stage in carrying out a good qualitative research is data collection. To ensure full commitment, I will engage many people to ensure that the data collected gives a full representation of the people.

I will gather enough data and ensure that this data is accompanied by enough information on how the data were collected. To ensure validity of the research, I will carry out the data collection through triangulation method where, I will collect data at different times but from the same group of people. I will ensure that the qualitative research is accompanied by enough information on how the data were collected. This information includes a detailed description of the context and, how and why there were change if any in the techniques or focus.

This will assist in having a transparent process thus one can be able to judge if the methods used and the methods made during data collection were reasonable. I will Establish a systematic network through the use of an explicit analytical network. I will ensure the size and nature of the data collected is comprehensive enough to answer the research question (Yardley, 2000). I will maintain transparency in the collection of data. I will ensure responsiveness in the collection
