In the current dynamics of changing socio-cultural environment, aggressive behavior and violence have increasingly being witnessed in society across the globe. The socio-psychological imperatives of violent behavior are critical elements because a person loses his or her ability of objectivity and rationale when he or she is angry. McFarland, (1995) believes that the socio-biological perspective of aggressive behavior is an innate part of human beings. of domestic violence, this aspect becomes highly pertinent because the human race is characterized by behavioral traits that are intrinsically linked to excel and compete with others.

People are also exposed to the diversity of media that has considerable influence and which could aggravate their sense of failure resulting in violence. Indeed, it needs to be rationalized to identify its root cause and thereby find the best measures to control it. The research would, therefore, addresses the issue with a major focus on studying the impact of using a trans-theoretical model of change on the attitude of group participants towards domestic violence. Statement of the problem Domestic violence across the globe has emerged as a major socio-psychological problem with widespread ramifications on the family lives of people.

The abusive relationship within a family often results in failed marriages or relationships, child abuse, and neglect. In fact, children who experience violence, neglect, and insecurities within the family are observed to not only carry the stigma of the disturbed family but very often become victims of the circumstances and themselves become abusers in their later life. Social determinants of aggression and violent behavior become crucial factors that need to be identified. People are driven to achieve personal and professional targets.

When they are unable to get what they want, their frustrations result in overt and covert forms of aggression. Overt forms of aggression are reflected in violent behavior and acts of violence to hurt somebody.
