I needed to try to use other types of research to see if I could validate the actions my friends described doing to see if I could establish some sort of correlation to the desired results in my own home.  This is important to understand; otherwise, a case study would just be stories about people.  This isn’t research because it is too easy to assume causality in this situation.

            I would do a few things differently if I needed to do this again.  I think I would have asked more friends.  I only asked two friends that I knew had gotten rid of cockroaches.  I feel that gathering more experiences may have helped me to determine possible threads of continuity between the anecdotes.  This would have possibly helped me when I was ready to make a plan to get rid of my cockroaches.
