Permission Granted Permission was granted by the Proprietor of the School being an old friend. Description of Behavior Observed It was my conscious decision to observe a kid aged less than 5. I decided to observe them only when their parents are not around because their behavior in the presence of parents will not display their true moods and spirits. Park and public places will not be a right place for making such observations because kids at this age visit these places with their parents. It is a fact that kids below age 5 take inspiration from their mother and try to imitate many things that their mother do.

In a different setting, particularly outside their home, when they mix up with other mates they exhibit their true flavor, their liking and disliking as they get required space and considerable time to play, eat and talk together. In one of the kindergarten school of my friend I grasped one such opportunity. It was essential that kid should never know that I was watching or observing her otherwise that would not allow her to behave most naturally. A kid that I chose was named Mali, a four year old girl, pretty nice looking and charming.

I took my position in such a way that none of the kids could see me; however, I was able to watch and listen all of them. Mali was a fair complexioned girl. I could see that total numbers of kids in her class were 9 to 10 and at least, four kids in the class were blacks. Boys and girls were more or less equal in strength. All of them were speaking English in their own typical naturalized accent. It was a big, pretty well decorated hall full of toys and flowers. While talking to her fellow mate, Mali was using her left hand.

She used to pick the toys by her left hand. That gave me an indication that she was a left hander. Nearby, there were two large trays full of sea-mud. Each tray had four compartments and muds were kept in different colors: gray, black, brown and pink. I could guess that it was for kids to make mud articles as per their liking taking inspiration from some colorful photographs hanging on the wall. Most of the boys were there and Mali too joined them. Boys were trying to make some racing cars as I could see them trying to imitate pictures of fancy cars.

Mali instead was trying to give a shape to some different thing. After a little while, I could notice that she was trying to create a small bird. Though a shape of the bird was not coming very clean I could sense that she was interested in creating penguin. She dismantled the shape twice and started afresh. She wanted the shape of penguin as discerning as she found in the photograph. In many ways, she seemed to me a perfectionist as she dismantled the shape so many times to arrive at the right proportions.

Most of the kids had finished their task and shifted to some other game but she was persistent in this task. She was accompanied by one of her class mate in this creation. Soon, she began guiding her fellow friend about some intricacies which she had mastered in this mud creation tasks. I could sense that she is not only capable of creating good articles but also she is good in helping others in their endeavor. She was consistently using her left hand to accomplish major tasks. A young teacher came out to give some instructions, which she carefully listened.
