Being involved in this component enhances an upcoming athlete to the extent of becoming a champion. The discovery stage involves the creation of a champion; this is a vital stage as it is the foundation of coming up with a champion (Meyers, 2005-2011). At the age of six to nine, the upcoming athlete is introduced to a wide spectrum of non-specific stimulus whose pivotal role is to enhance natural development of coordination habits. Participants learn physical skills of exercises via experimental and self discovery based means.

Discovery leads the exploration and transformation stages. Exploration involves the transitioning towards a champion whereas transformation incorporates becoming a champion. Performance assessment is vital in the sense that it evaluates the achievement made by the athlete. Performance enhancement by professionals is critical in the sense that it helps the athlete be guided in areas of effectual perfection to acquire exemplary performance (Carlstedt, 2007). With assessment and intervention, the athlete’s ability to achieve the best is conceptualized. . Setting goals helps athletes focus on what is most notable in enhancing effort and motivation to stick to the set plan.

This component increases the effort and motivates the athletes and guides them towards their desired progress. This shapes the athlete critically to adhere to a set plan towards achieving success in the field enhancing experience, in performance. In particular, development of performance goals in athletics helps one focus on their achievements and competes effectively to reach the outcome goals which are most crucial (Gardner and Moore, 2007). Self-efficacy involves an individual’s believe that their competence and the ability to execute plan actions as a coping mechanism.

High self efficacy builds inner core values of an athlete, thus building confidence in whatever action they do. This critically enhances the experience level resulting from heightened self-esteem and self-belief. Self-efficacy is a strategy that is vital in predicting how well an athlete can handle pressure thus helps to cope with any situation during training and competitions (Bray et al, 2002). This in turn, results into a reduction in anxiety of their future performances. On acquiring skills, self –efficacy is vital in helping the athlete maintain a successful behavior in the performing environment.

Imagery is one of the most fundamental languages we have that the brain perceives all aspects in life. According to Richardson (1969; pp 2-3) as cited in Bray et al (2002), imagery is quasi- sensory and quasi perceptual experiences known by the individual and exist in the absence of stimulating conditions known to bring out sensory or perceptual counterparts.
