According to the researchers, the decisions young people make about their sexuality are their own, guided by their religious beliefs, among others. Results showed that the youth consider their sexual preferences and beliefs are greatly affected by their faith. In my opinion, the article is well-written and very easy to understand by the intended audience. It was concise but informative at the same time. It does not contain breakthrough information. However, the information may be a surprise to adults.

Many adults think young people are very spontaneous and do not let religion affect them. In the textbook, the writer said it is not a happy process for an individual to admit his homosexuality or bisexual orientation if society’s attitude is negative. (Sigelman, C., & Rider, A., 2011. p. 404) The article supports this idea. The idea of homosexuality and bisexuality are uncommon in most religious beliefs. So, most religions react negatively. Some participants revealed there was tension and conflict when they tried to associate their religious beliefs with their sexuality.

Answers were also diverse about sexual expressions. This article can help me understand others with a different sexual orientation than myself. If I understand them more, I will be able to work with them better. Also, I think this article can help me convince others about the connection between religion and sexuality.
