Ethics Questions s Affiliation: Ethics refers to the of conduct of an individual. After a thorough analysis of the materials, I realized that there were so many ways I could do to improve my way of life and it opened my mind into many things. Therefore, my personal statement is to conduct myself in moral and ethical way before my parents, school mates teachers and every other person I come across.1. (TCOs 1, 2, 3, 7)A country under war implies that it is under external threats. Therefore, a country has to put in place all measures since desperate times call for desperate measures.

This situation can be analyzed in terms of a country on the verge of losing war away from the home front and aggression is already in the country. Therefore, this decision is ethically sound because the government can arm the citizens on the verge of defending their heritage. Realistically, it is unethical since it is creating a massacre where innocent civilians would end up dead because of lack of experience in the battlefront. Hence, based on both attributes of the war, I defend the position that a country should not indulge its citizens in war as it would sound like manslaughter and lack of respect of the human life on a realistic basis.

2 (TCOs 1, 2, 7) The 2008 economic downturn led to many negative economic impacts on the whole economy. It created high levels of unemployment and lots of business close down. My ethical philosophy guides me into believing that an employer ought to ask the employee to multitask on cases where the labor supply is low. Furthermore, on such a basis, the employer should compensate the employee accordingly and in accordance with the tasks done. On the contrary, the employee is ethically capable of refuting the job of multitasking on a situation of minimum wage, poor working environment and harsh treatment from the employer.

However, on an occasion of multitasking and other people lose their jobs, the employer is found to be at an ethical fault, but on the other hand, it is a two way traffic in that the willing employees ought to consider their colleagues about to lose their job. Summing it up, the employer is at an ethical fault since he/she has the final say on the issue. I believe that Emmanuel Kant would have used my above ethical analysis in the case of John and Marsha. This is because he valued good will, duty and respect for the moral law.

This signifies, that my ethical analysis is not different from Kant’s because the act of saving an innocent man’s life portrays good will, duty and respect for the moral law.4 (TCOs 1, 2, 4, 9)In the said case, John and Marsha are using the ethical philosophy of saving their affair at the expense of a murder case to which they are witnesses. They are held back due to the fact that it is a bad picture of their affair before their children and family at large. I disagree with their ethical philosophy since it lacks the sense of humanity.

They should think of a broader picture of saving the life of an innocent suspect rotting in prison for a crime not committed. Therefore, they should come clean before their families and stand as witnesses in the court of law. I would therefore advise both John and Marsha to be brave and face their worries in saving the life of an innocent man.5.5. (TCOs 5, 6) I would not reveal the secret of the technology used to make computers in the previous job to my new employer. This is because, firstly, it is against the employee’s code of ethics to reveal the secrets of the company to other competitors.

It would be an evil crime of selling out the treasured secrets of one company to another. Secondly, even though employment from the previous employer ended badly, it would be unreasonable to use my emotions or the anger felt after being laid down to reveal the secrets of the previous technology used. The ethical analysis I would use in such a situation is one of maintaining loyalty, trust and confidentiality in the workplace. Revealing the secrets of the previous job would haunt me in that I would lose my new job because my new employer would conclude that I cannot keep secrets of the new employment.

Furthermore, my ethical conclusion would be based on the art of maintaining originality and advise my new employer to be creative and innovate new and superior technology that would be used in creating computer chips.6.6. (TCOs 6, 8)The front page ethical dilemma resolution model is very significant in solving ethical mishaps in our daily life. I would use it to solve the above dilemma in the following ways.Step 1. Define the problem appropriately, which in the case refers to identifying the ethical obligation in revealing the secrets of previous employment.Step 2. Concretely understand the problem and its repercussions.

This implies the impact of revealing the secret to the new employer.Step 3. Identify why the situation occurred so as to completely be able to handle the ethical obstacle that come forth. This employee had to know that the situation came into being after being involved in developing chips for the previous employer.Step 4. Understand the intention of making the decision in the most friendly way forward. This is the task of not revealing secrets to the new employer and maintain a professional and ethical way of handling the situation without creating a conflict as the final resolution.
