An example is rat-breeding experiment where the aggressive rats gave birth to violent and wild generation while the nice rats had a gentle generation. The originality of an individual plays a bigger role in personality development hence aggression and friendliness has a genetic root (Dugatkin 197).

What was Freud's theory about violence? The human consciousness feeds the behavior. The animal instincts in the human beings get culmination by the “ego” to contribute to environmental conscious state. The “superego” on the other side assists in rational thinking and action as human beings. Breaking down of ego and superego bring the temptations and personal desires but when the “id” takes control of mind state, the individual actions take environmental basis thus developing violence for instance (Rapoport 540).

This brings a defense against the feeling of unacceptable pulses or anxiety to maintain an individual schema. These mechanisms include repression, or assuming a painful thought or feelings, object incorporation in one's thoughts.
