Psychological disorders in the Media In the famous medical series Dr. House, in episode 2 Season 4, a psychological disorder was portrayed through one of the patients handled by the team of doctors. The patient displayed symptoms of lacking feelings, having suicidal ideations, having auditory hallucinations, and behaving in a bizarre manner. In regard to the auditory hallucination, the patient heard voices of people telling him to kill himself. It was upon the doctors to deduce the condition and have appropriate treatment to ward him off the problem as the relatives had become concerned about his suicidal attempts (Alex, 2008).

The diagnosis made by Dr. House was Schizophrenia and appropriate medical treatment, which was antipsychotics, and the patient symptoms were relieved and he was able to go home after some time. Based on the media, the behaviors presented them was abnormal, though it was striking as it portrayed how the actual psychological disease usually manifests. From my opinion, I believe that portrayal of such psychological disorders can have effect on those watching as they can be able to imitate the symptoms portrayed so as to get away with some stuff in our day to day life.
